Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh’s Inspiring Conversation on Rewiring the Brain Elicits Applause

The Chandigarh Literary Society and the Capital Book Depot, Chandigarh jointly organised a “Book Talk” event on June 6, 2026 on the premises of Capital Book Depot wherein Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh talked about the importance of good mental health and the techniques and tips discussed in his book “Rewiring the Brain for Wellness” for mental well-being.


Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh dwelt comprehensively on the topics contained in the book which included mind-body relationship, psychosomatic issues, management of common mental problems like stress, anxiety, depression and burnout, besides elaborating on various coping and resilience mechanisms instead of maladaptive practices like resorting to drugs and alcohol consumption to temporarily overcome common mental and emotional issues.


Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh underlined the importance and need for creative approaches for mental health and the silver lining of mental illness by narrating the achievements of great personalities of the world like Isaac Newton, Charles Darwin, Thomas Edison, G. B. Shaw and John Nash, who despite serious mental issues and ailments, contributed significantly to the creativity, inventions and scientific discoveries that revolutionised the course of life in the world.


Among the audience were members of the Chandigarh Literary Society, the Capital Book Depot, staff members of the Regional Office of the Kalgidhar Trust, Chandigarh, and the general public.


Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh also answered a variety of questions of the audience on different issues related to mental health. The participants applauded Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh for discussing this important topic in a beautiful way.
