The event, held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was attended by approximately 150 participants, including university staff, students, and healthcare workers. The campaign was conducted under the valuable guidance and support of Dr. Col. Rajinder Singh, whose leadership significantly contributed to the event’s success. The primary objective was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of nicotine, recognize the signs of dependence, and promote effective cessation strategies. Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Col. Rajinder Singh, Dr. Jasjit Singh Sodhi, Dr. C.B. Patil, and Dr. Arjun Mittal, shared expert insights on the physiological, psychological, and behavioral aspects of nicotine addiction. The program also included a short educational video “CHUP, the Silent,” which is an in-house production, and an engaging Q&A session that allowed participants to clarify doubts and receive guidance on de-addiction services. The campaign successfully motivated participants to become advocates for tobacco-free living and underscored the vital role of educational institutions in supporting mental health and addiction prevention.
