Dr Col Rajinder Singh

Dr (Col) Rajinder Singh, Director, Akal Psychiatry Services- cum- Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centres, Baru Sahib, District Sirmore, H.P., and Cheema, District Sangrur, Punjab is an illustrious and renowned psychiatrist rendering general healthcare and psychiatric services with expertise, empathy, enthusiasm, dedication and excellence for over 50 years now. A former Senior Adviser Psychiatry in Armed Forces, he is an exceptional and extraordinary psychiatrist with national and international fame.

Having been the Consultant for Red Cross De-Addiction Centre in Chandigarh and been into social service, running Dispensary (Polyclinic) in Gurdwara Sahib Sector 34 Chandigarh after his retirement in 1991 as a volunteer speak volumes about his innate passion to alleviate human sufferings. Under his compassionate administration, more than 11000 families have benefited by treatment at both the Drug De-Addiction Centres since 2004. His extra-ordinary vision and fervour to bring about a change in the lives of the patients have taken the Drug De-Addiction Centres of The Kalgidhar Trust in Cheema and Baru Sahib to great heights.

Dr Rajinder Singh has a long string of awards, recognitions and honours to his credit. Dr Rajinder Singh has also been the main motivational force behind mobilising youth and organising a variety of events to publicise the message against drug abuse. Many of the events won international honours, accolades and global awards and recognitions. He has authored and edited several books on drug addiction, awareness and harms of drugs besides on how the youngsters can stay away from drugs.
